Mission

Trinity UMC is involved in many many opportunities in different ways.  Some members choose to participate in mission as individuals; other do it with groups in the church.

Here is a list of charities and mission agencies that are supported either financially or by hands-on participation of Trinity's members.
 
 
ADVIM (Anderson District Volunteers in Mission)
     An organization serving to assist when disaster
     strikes, to build homes, to do repairs, etc.
 
AIM (Anderson Interfaith Ministries)
     An organization providing assistance with food,
     school supplies, rent, utilities, medicine, etc.
 
Alzheimer's Association
     An organization assisting Alzheimer patients
     and their families
 
Anderson Care Pregnancy Center
     An organization providing assistance and
     education for those who are pregnant
 
Anderson Free Clinic
     An organization providing medical and dental
     treatment
 
Animal Shelter
     an organization providing care for homeless animals)
 
Calvary Children's Home
     An organization providing homes for children who have been
     abandoned or removed from their homes for their own welfare.
 
Camp Providence
     A camp providing opportunities for children living in
     disadvantaged circumstances to experience God's love
     at a week of camp
 
Cancer Association of Anderson
     An organization assisting cancer patients and their families
     with information and resources
 
Clean Start
    (a ministry for the homeless)
 
Casting Purls
    (crocheting and knitting ministry)
 
Developmental Center for Exceptional Children
    (a center for preschool children with special needs)
 
Epworth Children's Home
    (children's home)
 
Family Promise
    A ministry for homeless families - Trinity transforms its
    Sunday School Rooms into bedrooms for homeless
    families one week each quarter
 
Foothills Alliance
     An organization for the prevention of child abuse and
     serving those who have been abused
 
Good Neighbor Cupboard
    (emergency food)
 
Habitat for Humanity
     An organization building homes with/for those who
     otherwise could not afford one
 
Haiti Children's Project
     An Advance Special of the UMC providing assistance,
     resources, and education to children, orphans, and mothers
 
Haven of Rest
   (Christian discipleship recovery center for men)
 
Kairos Prison Ministry for Men and Women
   (cookies, prayers, letters)
 
Meals on Wheels
   (meals for the elderly and disabled)
 
Mission Supply Network
   An organization building or repairing homes and
   provides other items as they are able
 
Safe Harbor
   (emergency shelter for battered women and their
   children)
 
Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child
   shoeboxes of supplies for children throughout the world
 
Society of St. Andrew
   (providing produce for the hungry by gleaning fields)
 
Soup Kitchen
   (providing meals for those in need)
 
Thanksgiving Food Boxes
   (boxes of food for distribution the week of Thanksgiving
 
UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)
    flood buckets, hygiene kits
 
UMVIM (United Methodist Volunteers in Mission)
 
Under His Wings
    a Christian discipleship recovery center for women - a
    ministry of the Haven of Rest)
 
Upstate Homeless Coalition & Sunshine House
     The Sunshine House is now part of the Upstate Homeless
     Coalition that seeks to provide housing for the homeless
 
WACS (Women and Children Succeeding)
 
"We Care Bear" Project
   (stuffed animals for hospitals, charities, and ambulance
   services)
