DID YOU KNOW…
it takes 240 participants
to present the Journey each night?
…over one hundred persons accepted Christ
from the presentations in the previous six years?
…that in four nights, Trinity will do
twenty-four presentations of the Journey event?
…that over a thousand people attend the Journey each year?

What our guests said about the Journey...

This was just awesome. I felt the presence of the Lord as I watched the scene of Jesus dying for my sins.

This is my third visit here. Nothing else brings to the surface just how much He did for us. Amen.

My family has celebrated the Easter season with this event for five years. What a blessing.

Really meaningful. I brought my seven year-old son and this really told the story in a way that just reading couldn’t.

This was the BEST experience with a church in my lifetime. I truly felt Jesus was with us tonight.  I will never forget!!

A wonderful experience renewing my faith in my Lord and trusting in His great promise for me.

This event is really special. I am thankful that God let this cross my path. I love Jesus and claim Him as my Saviour and Lord.

WHAT IT IS: THE “JOURNEY TO THE RESURRECTION” is an interactive biblical walk-thru Easter Drama depicting the events of Christ’s life during His last week on earth prior to His resurrection.

MARKETPLACE:  It begins in our gym that is converted into a Marketplace with food, live animals, crafts, and thirteen shops including:  village Innkeeper, toymaker, potter, music maker, ropemaker, baker, herb and produce seller, leatherworker, vintner, jeweler, carpenter, mosaic tiler, and blacksmith.

Guests mingle in the Marketplace with the shopkeepers, Roman soldiers, and Pharisees. There may be beggars, shoppers, thieves, and tax collectors. The children get excited when they learn Jesus is near and they shout to everyone “Jesus is coming! Jesus is coming!”   Jesus and His disciples enter the Marketplace conversing with guests and each other, confronting the Pharisees, and facing the wrath of the Roman soldiers forcing them to move on.  After Jesus and His disciples leave the Marketplace, guests are called by tribe to join their walk-thru. (Tickets are color-coded with tribal names).  The walk-thru takes about one and one-half hours.

WALK-THRUS: Guides give brief instructions and the tribe proceeds to experience the betrayal by Judas, the Last Supper, the Arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Courtyard Denial by Peter, the Trial before Pilate, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. Guests are invited to spend a few moments in the sanctuary reflecting on their experience. Bibles are available for guests who do not have one and the prayer team will pray with anyone who requests it.

ARRIVAL: The time on the ticket indicates the time that Jesus and His disciples enter the Marketplace signifying the beginning of the guests walk-thru.  Adults and large groups should be checked in at the city gate at least ten minutes prior to their ticket time.   If the guests are bringing children, it is recommended they arrive twenty to thirty minutes prior to the time on their ticket so that they will have time to visit the shops in the Marketplace and make or sample items in the shops. Guests are welcome to arrive earlier in order to experience the Marketplace shops. The Marketplace closes fifteen minutes after the last walk-thru group leaves the Marketplace.

PARKING AND ENTRANCE:  The Marketplace opens thirty minutes prior to the first walk-thru. The entrance for the Marketplace is the side door of the gym along the drive-thru. Parking spaces along the drive-thru are reserved for handicapped persons.

OUR GIFT:  The “Journey” is our gift to the community. It is free of charge to all who attend. Upon entering the Marketplace, each guest receives a gold coin with which to make a purchase in the shops: clay, toy, maraca, leather bookmarks, jewelry, rope, cross, or mosaic items. Breads, cheese, and wine (grape juice) are free (require no coin).  Donation boxes are present outside the guides’ tent and the sanctuary, but all donations received are used solely to help families in need.

JOURNEY TO THE RESURRECTION SEEDS THAT WERE PLANTED
In the twenty-four presentations done in 2010, ten persons gave their lives to the Lord and there were numerous rededications. Eighty-four Bibles were given out in the sanctuary. Guests walking the Journey totaled 1,244. Another hundred visited just the Marketplace. Tellers’ registration sheets and response cards indicate that about eighty percent were first time participants.
